The Slide

This is a picture taken shortly before sunset on top of Hill Parc Alexandre. This shot shows the sports den, which is a municpally provided area with changerooms and bathrooms, rather old building.
The ice rink lies just at the end of the area of the hill which is popularly earned the name of "The Slide" because of the fact the mountain accumilates ice sheets at this time of the winter season and is very ideal for sliding. A firm ill-logic can be immediately seen with using this particular direction, as often people end up speeding on their sleds straight into the rink and even sometimes can make it to the fence at the far end, because there is an open area to enter the rink precisely in line with this angle on the hill.
Coincidence, coincidence.

Regardless, as a child when I came down this hill so often on a sled, and now when I watch families bring their kids up here to sled down for hours on end, it makes me proud to have such a landmark in my region. It also hurts my rear end when I get tripped over in the rink by runaway preschoolers. Ka-Blam! Thud! Oof!
